The voices of the incarcerated youth within the system have been silenced, diminished, and have gone unheard for far too long.
In addition to creating Black Vibe Tribe, I created the initiative The Youth Will Be All Write when I was 16 years old. It's a nonprofit organization that works to donate and provide incarcerated youth with composition notebooks as a platform of self expression. The therapeutic, healing, and educational benefits creative writing can have on one's disposition and ability to effectively communicate their thoughts is powerful.
Over the years, I've intertwined my two passion projects; the most evident example being that our "Education Not Incarceration" tee was inspired by these efforts to amplify the voices of the youth and bring awareness to the prevalent injustices happening in our community.
Black Vibe Tribe is a community based and culturally revenant apparel brand that aims to connect, love, uplift, and build with those deriving from the African Diaspora.
